Saul Dibb - from gun-crime to costume drama - The Independent
Saul Dibb is a Bafta-nominated director and writer whose powerful and multi award-winning work has made him one of the UK’s leading filmmakers.
After critically acclaimed documentaries such as TOTTENHAM AYATOLLAH, Saul’s debut feature was the ground-breaking and highly influential BULLET BOY (2003), nominated for several BIFAs, the Golden Hitchcock at Dinard and winning Evening Standard’s ‘Best Newcomer’.
Saul went on to direct an adaptation of Booker-winning novel THE LINE OF BEAUTY (2006) with Dan Stevens and Hayley Atwell, nominated by the Broadcasting Press Guild for Best Drama Series.
It was followed by THE DUCHESS (2008) starring Keira Knightley, Ralph Fiennes and Charlotte Rampling, the most successful independent British film of the year, nominated for and winning Oscars, BAFTAs, Golden Globes, Critics Circle, European Film Awards and BIFAs along with many more.
In 2013 Saul directed his own adaptation (co-written with Matt Charman) of the acclaimed novel SUITE FRANCAI Aisling Loftus KYHE
