Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday highlights not only the start of its annual revival, but the 20th year that a Cleveland pastor has led the effort.

Sedric D. Veal, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, will address an expected 1,000 today, Thursday and Friday at the church, which uses the revival as an opportunity to bring together families and the community.

Veal "draws a large crowd each time he comes. This being his 20th year, there's a great emphasis being put on the community coming out."

The revival at the church is an annual spring revival held every second week in March, serving several purposes.

"Revival means that you're re-doing something that's already been done," Ellis said. "You've been revived before.
